ADR requirements

ADR requirements apply:
– Labelling of the package
Each package shall be marked in a clearly legible and durable identification numbers contained in the dangerous goods preceded by the letters “UN” and labels in accordance with the model set out in the Agreement ADR. If you do not apply the exemption because of the limited amount of LQ package should be certified. For large bulk containers (IBCs) the marking of the package should be placed on two opposite sides of the container.
– Markings transport unit
Transport unit carrying packages of hazardous materials shall be marked with orange-colored plates. The units carrying dangerous goods in bulk or in tanks should include additional plates with identification numbers of risk and should be marked with warning labels ADR.
– Document transport 
The transport document shall contain the following information for each material and object dangerous to be carried: 
(a) the UN number preceded by the letters “UN”

(b) the proper shipping name supplemented, if required, given the technical name in brackets

(c) – for substances and articles of Class 1: the classification code. Where are the label model numbers other than 1, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6, these label model numbers should be given in parentheses after the classification code – For radioactive material of Class 7: the Class number – “7” – For substances and articles of other classes: the label model numbers and model numbers of labels required on the basis of a specific provision. If there is more than one label model numbers, the numbers following the first one shall be given in brackets. In the case of materials and items for which there was no label model should be given in their class

(d) the packing group, where assigned to the substance which may be preceded by the letters “PG” (eg. “PG II”), or the initials corresponding to the words “Packing Group” in the languages ​​used in accordance with the ADR

(e) the number and definition of packages, if any; package code can be used only as a supplement to the determination of the package (eg. one box (4G))

(f) the total quantity of each item of dangerous goods bearing a different UN number, proper shipping name or, where assigned, packing group (respectively as volume, weight, gross or net weight)

(g) the name and address of the sender

(h) the name and address of the recipient (s). Where the dangerous goods are intended for recipients unknown at the time of commencement of the transit, the consent of the competent authorities of the countries concerned in the transport, this information may be replaced by the words “Itinerant sale”

(i) the words required under special agreement

(j) (Reserved)

(k) the code of the tunnel restriction, if it has been assigned to the goods Placing a restriction code for tunnels in the transport document is not required for a proposed itinerary does not pass through the tunnels, where there are restrictions transport of dangerous goods.The location and order of information required in the transport document is left optional, except for the information required under (a), (b), (c), (d) and (k), which should be given in the order specified above (ie. (A) (b), (c), (d), (k)) without any additional information between them, as they are in ADR. 
Below is an example of permitted dangerous goods descriptions are: 
“UN 1098 ALLYL ALCOHOL, 6.1 (3), and (C / D)” or 
“UN 1098 ALLYL ALCOHOL, 6.1 (3), PG I, (C / D)”. 
In the case of domestic transport function of the transport document can be used as any other document containing the information required by ADR. In international transport transport document should be drawn up in the official language of the country of origin, if that language is not English, German, French is also one of the three languages.- Written instructions for the driver These instructions should be prepared before starting the journey by the carrier to the vehicle crew in the language (s) to each of the crew was able to read them and understand. The carrier shall ensure that each crew member understands its importance and is able to correctly apply them. The instructions in writing shall correspond to the model indicated in the ADR Agreement, taking into account their form and content.
– Packaging 
Dangerous goods (except subject to the exclusion LQ) shall be transported in containers with a special character (certified packaging).
The letter in the code package (X, Y, Z) representing the strength of the package should correspond to the group of packaging material.
– Equipment of the transport unit 
The transport unit must be transported following equipment: 
– Wheel chock, for each vehicle 
– Two self-standing warning signs 
– Eye rinsing liquid 1) and for each member of the vehicle crew: 
– A warning vest 
– Portable lighting (flashlight) 
– A pair of protective gloves 
– Eye protection
Additional equipment for certain classes: 
– an emergency escape mask for each member of the vehicle crew shall be carried in the vehicle in case of danger label numbers 2.3 or 6.1 
– shovel 2)

– a collecting container 2)
1) It is not required for danger label numbers 1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. 
2) It is required only in the case of solids and liquids, marked with warning labels with numbers 3, 4.1, 4.3, 8 or 9.
